The ATQMRA launched their 2026 season at the revamped Wall Stadium Speedway, in front of enthusiastic packed crowd. The track has undergone extensive improvements by new promoters Pete Malleto and Fred Archer, receiving their NASCAR sanctioning as well. Everyone from competitors to fans took notice to all the hard work.
Practice speeds lined up TQ qualifying groups with the top 3 cars of Geo Sutton, Tyler Ferris and Jeff Kot. After 3 groups of TQ’s took time, it was Sutton clicking off the fastest lap of the session. The top 8 qualifiers would redraw for position, setting the front row of Ferris and Sutton.
With the green flag dropping on 2026 ATQMRA season, Sutton shot to the lead entering turn one. By the time the cars entered turn 3 Kyle Taraska dove to the inside of Ferris for 2nd, and Joey Payne made his presence known taking 3rd before the completion of lap 1, with Ferris dropping to 5th.
Sutton would continue to increase his lead while Taraska, Payne, Barney, Ferris and Kot were all stacked battling for position. As the laps clicked off the field of TQs would stretch out laying down fast laps.
By lap 12 Sutton would catch lap traffic, with Taraska using the opportunity to close the distance on the leader. Sutton ran the remaining laps, In the Alan Mollot owned Badger, fast and smooth and was able to head to victory lane by a few car lengths leading all 25 laps.
Finish Line Bookkeeping Fast Time Award went to Sutton, clocking in at 13.1
The ATQMRA was the first feature to run under the newly promoted Wall Stadium Speedway, which was caution free and a great start to a six division race night.
